Federal Changes to Medicaid in Colorado
Stay Informed. Stay Covered.
Federal changes are coming to Colorado’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado, and Tepeyac wants to help you stay informed every step of the way. These changes do NOT apply to everyone, and not everyone is affected in the same way. You can find the most recent updates on what’s changing, when, who it affects, and how to make sure your coverage keeps working for you and your family on our PointCare information page.
If you are already enrolled in Colorado’s Medicaid program, here are 3 things you can do now to help you prepare:
Update your contact info and communication preferences:
Do this online with Colorado PEAK: co.gov/PEAK
Or in person or by calling your county human services department
Watch for official mail, email, or text communications from Health First Colorado.
Take action right away if you get an official communication about your health coverage.
If you’ve lost Health First Colorado coverage, you have additional time to sign up for a plan through Connect for Health Colorado
If you are going to lose or have already lost Health First Colorado coverage, you are eligible for a Special Enrollment Period to sign up for a health insurance plan. You can enroll as early as 60 days prior or up to 60 days after to the end of your Health First Colorado coverage.
