Protect Yourself - HCPF Scam Alert

Scammers are targeting Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) members through text messages and phone calls. Scammers will:

  • Say your health coverage is canceled, or threaten to cancel it

  • Ask you for money, credit card or bank account information

Health First Colorado and CHP+ will never ask you for money, bank account or credit card information, social security numbers, or any other financial information through text or over the phone.

Health First Colorado and CHP+ text messages and phone calls will never pressure you for personal information, threaten you with legal trouble, or ask you to keep the communication a secret from others.

Protect yourself! Don’t share bank account, credit card, or other personal or financial information with anyone who texts or calls saying they are with Health First Colorado, Medicaid or CHP+.

If you think a scammer contacted you, please report it to the Attorney General Consumer Protection Unit.
