$5 Million Gift Expands Access to Care at Tepeyac Community Health Center
As thousands of Colorado families face growing uncertainty around access to healthcare, Tepeyac Community Health Center (Tepeyac) announced today that it has received a transformative $5,000,000 multiyear gift from The Appel Family Foundation. This investment will expand access to high-quality healthcare for Metro Denver families amid ongoing disruptions in Colorado’s healthcare landscape and reductions in public funding.
Beginning in 2027, an estimated 100,000 Coloradans are expected to lose Medicaid coverage. As insurance gaps grow, community health centers like Tepeyac that provide accessible, high-quality healthcare regardless of insurance status are becoming more critical than ever. The Appel Family Foundation’s investment will allow Tepeyac to grow its clinical team, expand facility capacity, and transform care delivery to meet the urgent and rising health needs of our community.
The Appel Family Foundation is committed to supporting transformational organizations across Colorado that create lasting community impact. Tepeyac is honored to be a recipient of this funding.
“We are proud to continue our longstanding support of Tepeyac as it expands access to high quality care for families across Metro Denver,” expressed representatives of The Appel Family Foundation. Jim Garcia, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Tepeyac Community Health Center, added, “At a time when access to healthcare is becoming more uncertain for many families, this extraordinary investment from the Appel Family Foundation ensures Tepeyac can continue to be a trusted healthcare home for our community.”
This investment positions Tepeyac to effectively respond to growing community demand, safeguard continuity of care, and remain a trusted healthcare home for every patient who walks through their doors.
