Addiction Care
Recovery is Possible
If you are trying to quit prescription pain medication, heroin, alcohol, tobacco, stimulants, benzodiazepines or cannabis, we can help.
Tepeyac Community Health Center offers Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) that uses a prescription medicine called Suboxone combined with counseling and other services to help reduce withdrawal symptoms and craving.
MOUD triples your chances of staying opioid free during the first year of treatment!

Addiction Recovery Services
We offer integrated case management and behavioral health resources alongside medical visits for patients with substance use disorder (SUD). Our staff includes medical and behavioral health providers who are specially trained to provide addiction care.
Our dedicated care team benefits from the expertise of Dr. Patrick Huffer, a board-certified physician in both Family and Addiction Medicine. We also deliver services in English, Spanish, and all other languages including ASL.
How It Works
Buprenorphine (Suboxone) acts like an opioid to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, but it doesn’t create the “high” that leads to addiction. This can help you remain abstinent while you use other treatments, such as therapy.
Health Insurance Coverage
Medicaid (Health First Colorado), Medicare, TriCare (for veterans), and private insurance typically pay for MOUD. We also offer a sliding scale fee discount for qualifying patients and serve patients regardless of their ability to pay.
Referrals
Agencies can refer clients by filling out the PATIENT REFERRAL FORM and faxing it in. Tepeyac will then call to discuss the details and schedule the appointment.
Harm Reduction Resources
Harm reduction strategies include testing your drugs, using less risky methods of administration, and never using alone. At Tepeyac, we offer FREE kits to the community to help reduce risk of overdose or to provide critical care if one does occur. Good Samaritan Kit includes all the tools needed to help someone experiencing an overdose, while our Harm Reduction Kits include further resources to reduce risk of opioid overdose and other health complications. Both kits include naloxone spray, a medicine used to quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Naloxone is also available at the Tepeyac Pharmacy without a prescription.
How to Administer Naloxone
The videos below from the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment describes how to identify and respond to an opioid overdose using naloxone (Narcan) spray.
